WESCAP’s Andy Edstrom Published in The Economist
At WESCAP, we believe that to be successful global investors and earn attractive risk-adjusted returns for your portfolio, we must strive to be very knowledgeable about economic, commercial, political, and social trends worldwide.
We are therefore pleased to report that WESCAP Group Financial Advisor Andy Edstrom was published in The Economist issue dated May 28, 2016. Not only did the magazine publish his Letter to the Editor, but it wrote a feature article in response to it.
For anyone unfamiliar with The Economist, it is the premier periodical for global news and analysis. With printed circulation of 4.6 million and digital circulation of 2.7 million, its circulation far exceeds that of Time Magazine and also exceeds the circulations of The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Financial Times, combined.
We hope you find Andy’s “conversation in print” with this influential periodical to be illuminating. The topic is the regulation of large technology platform monopolies (e.g. Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon).
While Andy’s Letter to the Editor was itself edited by The Economist in a slightly confusing manner, the published version captures the intended meaning. The article that prompted his Letter to the Editor was published on May 5. He emailed his Letter to the Editor on May 15. In response to his letter, The Economist published a feature length article two weeks later (on May 28), in addition to the letter.
